T&R training have
a range of courses available. All our courses have a minimum age
requirement of 16 years.
First Aid At work
A four-day course
with an examination on day 4. Valid for 3 years.
Re-qualification
takes 2 days. It is a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recognised
qualification covering full CPR skills, practical first aid, HSE
rules and regulations and First Aid theory.
NPLQ
A six-day intensive course or can be run over 4 weekends.
Valid for 2 years. It is a Royal Life Saving Society qualification.
Key requirements: must be a competent swimmer, able to swim
continuously for 100m within 2 minutes, tread water for 1 minute
and re-submerge
completely to a depth of 2 metres. There is a practical examination
at the end of the course.
Defibrillator Training
Must hold one
of the following: a valid First Aid At Work Certificate, NPLQ certificate,
National Beach
Lifeguard Qualification Certificate or Life Support 3 Certification.
A half-day course with a written and practical examination, using
the AED Trainer 2 System to deliver the latest defibrillator
training. This course must be renewed every six months.
National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches
A three-day course or can be run over 2 weekends. Valid for 2 years. It is a
Royal Life Saving Society qualification. This is an assessment in practical lifesaving
skills that may be needed by anyone teaching or coaching swimming or another
programmed or structured activity in a pool. It is endorsed by the Amateur Swimming
Association, The Institute of Sport and Recreation Management and The Institute
of Swimming Teachers and Coaches. There is a practical examination at the end
of the course.
